Rock Greenling

Rock Greenling,  Hexagrammos lagocephalus

One of the most striking fish on the coast of British Columbia and other parts of North America. Male Rock Greenling are brightly coloured and each one is different from the others. They are one of the hardest fish for scuba divers to find, as they live on exposed parts of the coast that get heavy waves. To make it even harder to find they typically live in the top fifteen feet of water in thick kelp that is awash in surge. But they are definitely worth the effort if searched for safely.
