Widow Rockfish

Widow Rockfish, Sebastes entomelas

Commonly seen in large schools in places like Browning Pass and on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. In 2016 and again this last year, 2020, there was a  large recruitment event which saw millions of rockfish fry filling the water in various parts of the coast, from California to Alaska.  One of the more prolific species in this recruitment was Widow Rockfish.
