Grunt Sculpin, Rhamphocottus richardsonii
These adorable fish are always a treat to find when exploring underwater. Most often found in their favorite home of empty Giant Barnacle shells, they also use other structures as dens. Sometimes seen guarding eggs during the winter months, these curiously adapted fish don't range very far. They have highly adapted fins, using their pectoral fins to scuttle along the bottom and when turned around in a barnacle shell their caudal fin resembles the feeding parts of a live barnacle.
