Invertebrates

Both plentiful and varied, marine invertebrates are a fascinating collection of organisms.

From tiny nudibranchs a few millimeters long, to the Giant Pacific Octopus, invertebrates in the ocean are one of the most diverse categories of life. Lacking a vertebral column they have evolved into all manner of shapes and sizes. Nudibranchs, jellyfish, and octopus are all favorites of underwater photographers. British Columbias rich waters are filled with all manner of nudibranchs or sea slugs as they are otherwise known. Also the dark emerald waters are home to the famous GPO or Giant Pacific Octopus. With an arm radius up to 20 feet these giants are a sight to behold.
